Close the Gate is a basketball training company designed to challenge players to approach the game with intellect and intensity. A combination of college-level instruction (commitment to detail), video analysis, and high-intensity drills (game speed) will give players the opportunity to realize great results. Although, CTG isn’t necessarily all about the game of basketball, but also the game of life as well. We consider ourselves as basketball AND life coaches!
Close the Gate has trained over 150+ students within the last year. Ages have ranged from 5 years old, all the way to 21 years old! CTG has over 63 five-star google reviews. Our podcast, Off the Court: Basketball Training Podcast With Coach Jack, also has 78 five-star reviews on apple podcasts and over 3.5 thousand downloads.
CTG is now officially training in multiple cities! We currently offer in-person training located in Janesville and La Crosse Wisconsin. This page and price offers are for training in the La Crosse Wisconsin area.
We have had students travel as far as an hour away to come train with us!

CTG is offering two different kinds of payment options for your child’s training:
Training packages are the payments we have done in the past. This is where you buy a “pack” of workouts. Once those workouts are completed, you are given the option to buy more. We are still going to offer this option for families and students that want to “test” out CTG and see if it lives up to it’s reputation.
In the past, majority of families and students would always renew their training packages. This made it a hassle for both sides to constantly renew workout payments.
That is why CTG has officially set up a monthly subscription based service. Parents would pay a monthly fee for training. Too stop training, all you have to do is cancel your card! This makes payments much more effortless for CTG and families… that majority of time would renew anyways.
How to Know What Plan is Right for You?
CTG has done its best to try and keep training affordable for every type of family.
The more players that are in a workout, the less expensive your training sessions are going to be. We strongly recommend this for all students and families as individuals are only really necessary for shot correction. Muscle memory change needs 100% focus. Individuals may also be a good idea if your child is considerably young or just starting to try out basketball!
Small groups are a great option for CTG students looking to train with a couple of their best buddies. These are best for families and students that want to keep to their inner circle and tight to their close friends. Small groups are the best option to pre-plan your groups and have control of who your son/daughter is training with!
Large groups are the most affordable option for a reason. We believe this is the best option for most families. It is the most affordable, and can be the most effective. Having large groups gives our trainers the opportunity for more live game play. Making reads are the most undervalued part of basketball training in today’s day and age. We don’t pre-plan in the game, so the majority of our training should NOT be pre-planned movements. Large groups also gives the opportunity for students to meet new friends their age and make new connection. Best of both worlds!
Packs vs Monthly
Monthly payments will be cheaper compared to training packs. We reward loyalty here at CTG. If you’re new to CTG, testing out with training packs might be the way to go. If you sign up for monthly, CTG has the expectation you will continue training and your time slot throughout most of the year.
Training packs however, are given more flexibility than monthly subscriptions. If you buy training packs, that doesn’t mean it has to be at a certain day/ time every week compared to monthly.
If you are looking for consistency and a way to save money, monthly subscriptions are the way to go!
If you are looking for more flexibility or want to test out CTG, training packs are the way to go!
No Buddies to Sign Up With?
If you want your child to do group training, but don’t have enough buddies to sign them up with, this is totally okay!
If you sign your child up for the monthly plan of large groups for 100$, we would assign your child by age to a group where he can meet new friends! We strongly recommend this to make training more affordable.
CTG is always good about understanding family events and reschedules. If you ever don’t get the amount of workouts you paid for in a monthly subscription, we can always credit your account to make sure you do not overpay!
Once payment has been received, Coach Jack will assign your child to a CTG Coach based upon age and gender. All CTG Coaches have been trained and certified to coach in the exact same way CTG has trained in the past. Our goal is to make your child the best player and person that they can be. Highly skilled players on the court, better people off the court. Our 63 five star reputation will live up to any of the CTG Coaches that your child trains with!
Coach Kate and Coach Carson will be the Janesville Wisconsin basketball training coaches for CTG. You can find more about them and their bio on the CTG Coaches tab on our website.
Once you sign up for training, you will be sent an automated email sequence. This email will ask you to download the app GoMotion. You will make an account once you download the app. This is how CTG communicates to families and students. This makes it easy to set up training times that work for both sides, and where training will be located for that day.
These two new payment options will make it easy for any family or student to train with CTG. Let’s roll! Always contact with any questions. If finances are ever a significant problem preventing you from training with CTG… contact Coach Jack separately and he’ll see what he can do. 🙂
